Jeff Sackmann

Jeff Sackmann, the author of GRE HQ, The Total GRE Math, The GMAT Math Bible, The GMAT Verbal Bible, and a variety of other resources, has been helping students prepare for graduate admissions exams since 2000.

Until July, 2005, he worked for one of the large test-prep companies, teaching classroom courses, running workshops, and tutoring. He has also taught the LSAT, SAT, and countless other specialized admissions and certification exams. In addition to teaching, he has written curriculum (including hundreds of practice questions), trained teachers, and starred in instructional videos.

Jeff lives in Astoria, Queens, and is currently accepting students for private study in New York City. Jeff also offers phone consultations.

As a tutor, Jeff's top priority is quality over quantity. Rather than exposing clients to masses of concepts and practice questions that they may not remember long enough to apply on test day, he concentrates on building and reinforcing the basic skills that not only allow you to answer more questions correctly, but also help you approach the exam with more confidence.

This technique has proven effective with a broad range of students. Tailored to each individual's situation, it is equally useful for everyone from those fresh out of college to those who have spent a decade or more in the workplace. It also applies to any level of skill, whether you are just looking for a little boost to get over a 1400 GRE score or you are starting from scratch with nary a memory of how to divide a fraction.
